For the past two years employees have been given the opportunity to donate directly to Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas in return for a day of leave. Have you wondered what this money is being used for?

The idea behind directly contributing to CAI was to pay for things that we couldn't otherwise pay for through one of our other funding sources.

As you recall, two years ago we made changes in our 401K and Annual Leave policies to help staff members during these rough financial times. But, despite offering the Annual Leave Hardship and 401K Hardship we have noticed that some of our own staff members were still needing a little extra help due to medical bills, unexpected burial and funeral expenses and higher than normal utility bills.

Therefore, another avenue has been created to help our own Regular Full-time and Regular Part-time employees who have exhausted all other avenues. With the generous support of the employees who donate directly to Community Action, we are offering to employees an opportunity to apply for the Employee Assistance Program. The assistance provided will not be in excess of the immediate financial need or in excess of the $250 maximum.
