  Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program
    Funded by Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for eligible households in Hays, Caldwell and Blanco Counties
    Income eligibility requirements: at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines
    Priority groups include the elderly and disabled, families with small children and those households with high energy consumption and/or energy burdens.
    Assistance includes payment of electric, gas and propane bills; repair or replacement of inefficient heating and cooling appliances; and case management activities.
    Application required.
 

Program Year: Jan.- Dec.
   
  San Marcos Electric Utility (SMEU)
    Funded by the City of San Marcos for San Marcos Electric Utility customers only
    No pre-established income eligibility. However, customers must be low-income families, elderly on fixed income or disabled on a fixed income.
    Assistance includes payment of electric and water/wastewater portions of one month's utility bill.
    Assistance available twice a year, but no more than once every 6 months
    Application required.
 

Program Year: Oct.- Sept.
   
  Pedernales Electric Coop. (PEC)
    Funded by PEC for PEC customers only - Hays, Caldwell and Blanco Counties
    No pre-established income eligibility.
    CAI uses a Household Priority Rating Form to screen those applicants who do not already meet the established eligibility criteria for the CEAP program.
    Assistance includes payment of electric usage only.
    Maximum assistance of $500 annually per household.
    Application required.
